I Ching Unfoldment Consultation 7-1-23

I have been consulting the I Ching oracle for over three decades on and off. It all started when in a bookshop in Tring and copy of the Wilhelm I Ching “jumped” off a shelf and landed at my feet. I saw it as an omen that I should use the I Ching.

Normally one takes a while to formulate, with care, that which one wishes to consult about. If you ask banal questions like; “When will I meet a tall dark and handsome man?” The I Ching will give a banal if not piss taking answer. If you ask roughly the same question of the oracle over and over it will tell you not to be so impudent. One needs to treat the I Ching with respect because in reading the oracle one changes the future. One cannot unread what one has read. So, the conscious choice of consultation is a future changing event. If you do not like the answer and try to go against the “advice” that is very unwise.

In many cases the I Ching just adds that little bit of clarity, some left field input, to something already at the periphery of intuition.

Sometimes the I Ching will not “let” you ask a question. Whenever this happens it is important to take note. A valid timely question is always easy to hold in the mind’s eye and build intent to the answering. In no way ought one to try to influence the oracle. One can on occasion get a “preview” as the hexagram unfolds.

 I have just tried to ask the question:

“Please comment on the unfoldment of 2023 for me…”

As I was asking this question, I had visual images of three people who I believe do not pertain to the light side of the force, one more linked to two of these also not light appeared. There was one other individual who I am unsure as to their orientation with light.

I could not complete the question. The I Ching would not let me. The thought forms of these individuals were obstructing.

One possible interpretation is that the unfoldment of 2023 will in some way involve these beings not exactly aligned with the light.

It is a 7 day in a 7 year so this could be the light jewel guidance at work…

2023 Numerology and Tarot

In these difficult times, here is my first pass at 2023.

The first sensation I get is one of angularity, of points and spikes.  A jarring even.

23 is the dark jewel of destructive behaviour. 3 is the jewel of mixed abundance, need for creativity and joy. 2 + 3 = 5 is the jewel for the need for freedom and change. All in all, this is not a round smooth setting. The triangle and the pentagram. If the pentagram is inverted, we have 23 or minus 5, oppression, no freedom, no change.

Things will get worse and we need to find some joy in the mixed abundance, good and bad, 3.

This is probably a safe bet.

2 is the jewel for humility and understanding {need for}. One needs to listen to and follow what is written in the book of destiny. Where there is no humility fate cannot unfold smoothly.

I often think of 2 as the book of karma. Karma must unfold. The effects of the causes will manifest and bear their karmic fruit, whether we like it or not. It is unwise to try to resist karma. Otherwise, more karma is caused.

For some reason I don’t feel le mat or zero active here. It, he, is more of a place holder.

Overall, 2023 is a seven year. Here the two horses on the chariot are pulling in opposite directions. There is a need for guidance as to which course to take otherwise there will be a destructive parting of ways.

Seven is also the number of the dreamer and the dreamed. The dreamed {personality} needs to take guidance from the dreamer, the Soul. A willing and humble acceptance of said guidance will allow a moving forward. Failure to listen to guidance means getting stuck, entrenched even.

In this sense guidance could mean listening to the planet also. We are currently having a “once in a lifetime” event in the USA. Pakistan has been submerged. There may be an increasing frequency of these so-called once in a lifetime events. The planet is talking to us!!

The feeling I get from Le Chariot for 2023 is not one of accepting guidance, though. I think that the crown, self-importance, will play out and there will be more cleavage and division in the world.

2022 did not manifest as a plus 6. The old remains. No choice between the old and the new was made.

Similarly, I fear that 2023 will not manifest as a plus 7. There will not be forward movement. This suggests that the stalemate in eastern Europe remains or even escalates. If the 23 comes fully into play, it could be very bad news indeed.

23 could manifest as a 5, freedom and change. I don’t see the seed, the germ of that at the moment. It is more like a pope of old keeping people stuck to the status quo.

As usual the I Ching is open to interpretation. These poems by Jay are very him, very left sided. He took us to the pub in Slad nearby where Laurie Lee who wrote “Cider With Rosie” used to go.

I had been using the I Ching on and off for about five years at the time. It has played a part in many of my decisions even when I was an academic.

Taken together there is a no rush – dao -attitude. I have until the 9th of January to reply.

Sometimes the I Ching answers a question which was not explicitly asked and there is a part in Fu which relates to something else I have been considering. This is to pick up chanting again. It is good for my chest.

I have been waking in the middle of the night and doing raja yoga whilst lying under the duvet.I have not done this for a while.

Past experience has suggested that attempts to link back to the techno-sphere have not ended well.

In the previous post when the hexagram changed to Ming I, this line stood out.

“here a man of dark nature is in a position of authority and brings harm to the wise and able man.”

The thing about the I Ching is that it is a snapshot of now. In a few days time the snapshot may change. Ask too often and the I Ching tells you to piss off.

It was a bit spooky to get the hexagram assoicated with the winter solstice, due in ten days.

So I will ask again after the solstice and maybe write to the IPO while stuffed full of Brussels sprouts…

24. Fu / Return (The Turning Point)

The idea of a turning point arises from the fact that after the dark lines have pushed all of the light lines upward and out of the hexagram, another light line enters the hexagram from below. The time of darkness is past. The winter solstice brings the victory of light. This hexagram is linked with the eleventh month, the month of the solstice (December-January).

THE JUDGMENT

RETURN. Success.

Going out and coming in without error.

Friends come without blame.

To and fro goes the way.

On the seventh day comes return.

It furthers one to have somewhere to go.

After a time of decay comes the turning point. The powerful light that has been banished returns. There is movement, but it is not brought about by force. The upper trigram K’un is characterized by devotion; thus the movement is natural, arising spontaneously. For this reason the transformation of the old becomes easy. The old is discarded and the new is introduced. Both measures accord with the time; therefore no harm results. Societies of people sharing the same views are formed. But since these groups come together in full public knowledge and are in harmony with the time, all selfish separatist tendencies are excluded, and no mistake is made. The idea of RETURN is based on the course of nature. The movement is cyclic, and the course completes itself. Therefore it is not necessary to hasten anything artificially. Everything comes of itself at the appointed time. This is the meaning of heaven and earth. All movements are accomplished in six stages, and the seventh brings return. Thus the winter solstice, with which the decline of the year begins, comes in the seventh month after the summer solstice; so too sunrise comes in the seventh double hour after sunset. Therefore seven is the number of the young light, and it arises when six, the number of the great darkness, is increased by one. In this way the state of rest gives place to movement.

The winter solstice has always been celebrated in China as the resting time of the year–a custom that survives in the time of rest observed at the new year. In winter the life energy, symbolized by thunder, the Arousing, is still underground. Movement is just at its beginning; therefore it must be strengthened by rest so that it will not be dissipated by being used prematurely. This principle, i.e., of allowing energy that is renewing itself to be reinforced by rest, applies to all similar situations. The return of health after illness, the return of understanding after an estrangement: everything must be treated tenderly and with care at the beginning, so that the return may lead to a flowering.

Six in the third place means:

Repeated return. Danger. No blame.

There are people of a certain inner instability who feel a constant urge to reverse themselves. There is danger in continually deserting the good because of uncontrolled desires, then turning back to it again because of a better resolution. However, since this does not lead to habituation in evil, a general inclination to overcome the defect is not wholly excluded.

Here the sun has sunk under the earth and is therefore darkened. The name of the hexagram means literally “wounding of the bright”; hence the individual lines contain frequent references to wounding. The situation is the exact opposite of that in the foregoing hexagram. In the latter a wise man at the head of affairs has able helpers, and in company with them makes progress; here a man of dark nature is in a position of authority and brings harm to the wise and able man.

THE JUDGMENT

DARKENING OF THE LIGHT. In adversity

It furthers one to be persevering.

One must not unresistingly let himself be swept along by unfavorable circumstances, nor permit his steadfastness to be shaken. He can avoid this by maintaining his inner light, while remaining outwardly yielding and tractable. With this attitude he can overcome even the greatest adversities. In some situations indeed a man must hide his light, in order to make his will prevail inspite of difficulties in his immediate environment. Perseverance must dwell in inmost consciousness and should not be discernible from without. Only thus is a man able to maintain his will in the face of difficulties.

He veils his light, yet still shines.

In a time of darkness it is essential to be cautious and reserved. One should not needlessly awaken overwhelming enmity by inconsiderate behavior. In such times one ought not to fall in with the practices of others; neither should one drag them censoriously into the light. In social intercourse one should not try to be all-knowing. One should let many things pass, without being duped.

Rishi Sunak – Numerology

The first thing to say is that the numerology has a nice sense of symmetry to it. In particular the personality aspects of Rishi. There are a lot of nines there which mean he has experience of implementing “completion, the universal teacher, the big brother {in a good sense}, selflessness, broad-minded- ness and benevolence”.

It also speaks of the “sound” of Rishi as it is used to refer to the sages of old.

I will outline the positives only.

Rishi’s principal challenge is to express the 4. {Stability strength, dependability, sobriety, judiciousness, the executive, the natural ruler}. So, his new job allows him to face this challenge head-on when there are jitters and discord.

His third pinnacle is 2 from the power number 11.  {the unfoldment of destiny, the natural arbitrator, humility, understanding gentleness and strength of conviction} from {love of the limelight, the natural performer, the natural speaker, the visionary, intuitive and inspirational} He is a couple of years into this pinnacle. It should mature over the next few years.

His soul urge is 4 which is very nicely in line with his principal challenge this lifetime.

His personality number is 8 {Harmony, balance the conservative, the politician, the banker, the editor}

In the planes of expression he has no 4s. Therefore, to experience a 4 is his principal challenge and what his soul chose this life to do, to explore its urge.

His destiny number is 3. The negative aspects of which are chaos, lacking in completion, scattering of talents, the show off. {Does this sound like someone?} The positive aspects are mixed abundance, creativity, the collector, versatility, friendliness.

He has picked up a chalice with some poison in it at a difficult time to have the opportunity to work on the 4. {Mixed abundance}

Rishi the name and personal expression is the nine both soul and personality, this is a truly neat vehicle for him to work in.

The choice of parents {Sunak} on the Soul side is 4, which is in line with his soul urge.

The choice of parents on the personality side is an 8 which is in line with his overall personality.

{Good choice of vehicle Mr Sunak…}

His power number is 11 which is a power number {love of the limelight, the natural performer, the natural speaker, the visionary, intuitive and inspirational}. If he needs to, he can pull this out of the magical top hat.

In the planes of expression there are a few 1s. He “knows” from previous lives how to pioneer, go-get, the strategist, natural leader, fluid and tenacious.

All in all, from the numerology it looks like a good fit to his chosen life and where he finds himself now. He has bitten off a big challenge, but he appears to have the wherewithal to handle it.

2022 – Numerology – Tarot – Written 26-12-2021

As is my custom I tend to have look at the numerology of the upcoming year.

Overall, 2022 is a six year which implies that it is about choosing between the old and the new.

But when I started to look and feel 2022, the thing that stood out was 22. I did not see it as 2 + 2 = 4.

I see it as 22 which is the dark jewel Egotism.

The feeling behind this stems from the prolonged coronavirus restrictions. So far people have been, by and large, able to keep a lid on it, on the pressure cooker.

“22 Egotism
Active Shortcoming: Self-importance
Behaviour: Self-opinionated, arrogant, self-centred, pompousness, holier-than-thou, longwindedness
Passive Shortcoming: Self-pity
Behaviour: Victim/martyr, hard-done-by, unappreciated, fear of exposure, fear of being wrong, fear of criticism”

Already people are blaming others. My first best guess hunch is that we will be seeing a lot of the behaviours associated with this dark jewel manifesting next year. Things could erupt and blow.

The negative manifestation of 22 is minus four. This is when 4 stability changes into inertia and death minus thirteen. As opposed to the positive version of 13 death of the old {ways}.

There will be a tendency to remain stuck. {Emphasis added today}

There could be a coronavirus Groundhog Day. The rich are vaccinated, the poor not. The virus in the poor will mutate and spread and the immunity conferred by the vaccine will again dwindle in the light of new variants.

There are a lot of twos.

Two means the need for humility and understanding for our fate is written for us in the book of destiny. If we are not sufficiently humble our destiny cannot evolve as we try to force our will on the world and dictate how life should sumbit to our precious and important plans.

I see a bifurcation, a split.

Those who have sufficient humilty and understanding will be able to choose between the old and the new. 2 + 2+ 2 = 6 They will be able to let go of what has served its purpose and usher in some new and freshness in their lives. They may get a taste of absolute freedom zero. They will feel the burden of the old lessen and a sense of new found adventure, nascent.

Those who insist and are adamant in their egotism will not be able to choose and in so doing opt for the stagnant inert and old ways of being. They will insist that life must be normal and remain the same. They will demand the right to their aquisitional materialism and continue to kill the planet with their greed. They will not change. There will be the slow death of stubbornness, stuck-ness and inertia. The more they refuse to change the more the universe will kneel them. Could mean more natural disasters.

Some people will change a lot next year, others will remain insistent and stubbornly stuck.

METTEYYA

THE Blessed One proceeded with a great company of the brethren to the sala grove of the Mallas, the Upavattana of Kusinara on the further side of the river Hirannavati, and when he had arrived he addressed the venerable Ananda, and said: “Make ready for me, I pray you, Ananda, the couch with its head to the north, between the twin sala trees. I am weary, Ananda, and wish to lie down.”

“Be it so, Lord!” said the venerable Ananda, and he spread a couch with its head to the north, between the twin sala trees. And the Blessed One laid himself down, and he was mindful and self-possessed.

Now, at that time the twin sala trees were full of bloom with flowers out of season; and heavenly songs came wafted from the skies, out of reverence for the successor of the Buddhas of old. And Ananda was filled with wonder that the Blessed One was thus honored. But the Blessed One said: “Not by such events, Ananda, is the Tathagata rightly honored, held sacred, or revered. But the devout man, who continually fulfills the greater and lesser duties, walking according to the precepts, it is who rightly honors, holds sacred, and reveres the Tathagata with the worthiest homage. Therefore, O Ananda, be ye constant in the fulfillment of the greater and of the lesser duties, and walk according to the precepts; thus, Ananda, will ye honor the Master.”

Then the venerable Ananda went into the vihara, and stood leaning against the doorpost, weeping at the thought: “Alas! I remain still but a learner, one who has yet to work out his own perfection. And the Master is about to pass away from me-who is so kind!”

Now, the Blessed One called the brethren, and said: “Where, O brethren, is Ananda?” One of the brethren went and called Ananda. And Ananda came and said to the Blessed One: “Deep darkness reigned for want of wisdom; the world of sentient creatures was groping for want of light; then the Tathagata lit up the lamp of wisdom, and now it will be extinguished again, ere he has brought it out.”

The Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda, as he sat there by his side: “Enough, Ananda! Let not thy self be troubled; do not weep! Have I not already, on former occasions, told you that it is in the very nature of all things most near and dear unto us that we must separate from them and leave them? The foolish man conceives the idea of ‘self,’ the wise man sees there is no ground on which to build the idea of ‘self,’ thus he has a right conception of the world and well concludes that all compounds amassed by sorrow will be dissolved again, but the truth will remain. Why should I preserve this body of flesh, when the body of the excellent law will endure? I am resolved; having accomplished my purpose and attended to the work set me, I look for rest! For a long time, Ananda, thou hast been very near to me by thoughts and acts of such love as is beyond all measure. Thou hast done well, Ananda! Be earnest in effort and thou too shalt soon be free from evils, from sensuality, from selfishness, from delusion, and from ignorance!”

Ananda, suppressing his tears, said to the Blessed One: “Who shall teach us when thou art gone?”

And the Blessed One replied: “I am not the first Buddha who came upon earth, nor shall I be the last. In due time another Buddha will arise in the world, a Holy One, a supremely enlightened One, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe, an incomparable leader of men, a master of angels and mortals. He will reveal to you the same eternal truths which I have taught you. He will preach his religion, glorious in its origin, glorious at the climax, and glorious at the goal, in the spirit and in the letter. He will proclaim a religious life, wholly perfect and pure; such as I now proclaim.”

Ananda said: “How shall we know him?” The Blessed One said: “He will be known as Metteyya, which means ‘he whose name is kindness.'”

Homo In Silicio

Homo sapiens, a possible misnomer, is heading towards an entire new species, which we might deem homo in silicio. Already much of our time is spent on line and in our electronic worlds. There are advances in medical implants whereby the heart etc. is controlled by on board electronic devices. We have the world of wearable tech.

Before long it will be implantable tech. We may become microchipped like cats and dogs. Soon there will be a new rite of passage at say 18. Then we get fitted with our own transmitter/receiver and our SIM implant. We will get intra-cochlear headphones and an intra-jawbone microphone implant. Our heads-up display will be hardwired into the cortex.

Amongst us will be an army of clones produced from neither egg nor sperm. Many of us will change species and there will be a parallel evolution between homo in silicio and residual homo sapiens. It will be to be discovered if any Souls are willing to take on a cloned body, so we may have a new type of being entirely without Soul. Only those rich enough for the implant technology will become homo in silicio, they will communicate with all the data sources and live increasingly immersed in the virtual worlds. They will seek to dominate the remainder of homo sapiens, who will develop empath and telepath qualities.

Homo in silico will give over control of pretty much everything it values to the onboard artificial intelligence. It will have virtual relationships via avatars, reproduce by electrically and visually stimulated ejaculation into glassware, the eggs harvested simultaneous with the SIM fitting rite of passage will be extracted from liquid nitrogen and genetically matched. No corporeal contact will ever be needed again and so homo in silicio will exist in a near hermetically sealed world devoid of viruses and bacteria, where high definition 3D holograms are the on board ersatz of nature.  

In time there will be the war to end wars, in which the machine driven soft wet matter takes on the rest. It will be the war of the empath and telepath, against the computers and its hosts.

Consulting Oracles – Changing the Future

This morning by consulting the I Ching I have changed the future.

The consultation speaks of “revolution” and later a circumstance reaching a critical tension.

REVOLUTION.

On your own day

You are believed.

Supreme success,

Furthering through perseverance.

Remorse disappears.

And

Fire in the lake: the image of REVOLUTION.

And

When one’s own day comes, one may create revolution.

It suggests that the universe, when the time is right, will allow a major upheaval and change.

Later we have:

“It is an exceptional time and situation; therefore extraordinary measures are demanded. It is necessary to find a way of transition as quickly as possible, and to take action.”

I am reading the consultation as a kind of Carte Blanche for when the time is right. After I have tried every other means do not fear letting rip, big time. But remember the six Ps. Preparation and Planning Prevent Piss Poor Performance.

One obvious possible application is a house / country move.

It furthers one to have somewhere to go.

Success.

And

Thus the superior man, when he stands alone,

Is unconcerned,

And if he has to renounce the world,

He is undaunted.

When I got this reading this morning, I went round the house making lip blowing noises, because it seems to me that a whole bunch more is on the cards for my next mundane year.

It is unlikely that many people with my kind of educational {science} background would look at this “oracle” or “prophecy” and attach any significance.  They might read it but with as much belief as a tabloid newspaper horoscope. But if they did read it and pooh-pooh it, it has already changed their future. The mere act of reading it altered the course of events. And now there is something, perhaps trivial, in their subconscious. Which could rear its head at any time.

As I said above, I am taking this that I have some kind of Carte Blanche, to act. My perception of and my interaction with the future have changed.

To my eyes this consultation is not just about the house move but refers to many other possible situations as well.

The ridgepole sags to the breaking point.

It furthers one to have somewhere to go.

Success.

The weight of the great is excessive. The load is too heavy for the strength of the supports. The ridgepole on which the whole roof rests, sags to the breaking point, because its supporting ends are too weak for the load they bear.

May refer to the cost of living crisis, energy and food insecurity, or more global warming:

Extraordinary times when the great preponderates are like flood times when the lake rises over the treetops.
