Last night around midnight I went outside. There were no clouds in the sky and the light pollution here is low.
The moon was rising but partially obscured by the trees. I stood there for quite a while drinking in the sky.
It occurred to me that the one thing I miss now that I have quit smoking is looking at the night sky and in particular the plough constellation, which to me looks more like a question mark.
I used to sit on the doorstep on the farm in the UK and see the plough on a regular basis. Our local garage was named after it. I would see the sky many times each night.
Last night the sky was full of stars…
I realised that I was/am missing the stars…
Luckily this is easy to remedy, and I don’t have to pay ten euros a pack anymore…
